Katie Carlson just wants to be a regular girl, get good grades in college, have fun with her friends and enjoy her life. But Professor Kincaid has it in for her. The deal is she either does well in school and gets good grades, or she has to enroll in Crowne Pointe Academy, a place that is known for having firm rules and strict discipline.
When Katie goes off to the weekend party at the lake, she wants to change her fortune, her trajectory… but what happens puts her on a journey that will change her life.

This was my first PS Cassidy book and I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. It was a great read, I finished it in one nite. The story was good, keeping me wondering, along with the main character Katie, about rule 13. The story was focused on the domestic discipline idea,with a head master who really cares about the girls under his guidance. The romance was minimal, but I really liked book. All the characters were interesting, I hope that there will be a follow up with the story of Katie's brother, I will definitely read another PS Cassidy book.Product details

I don't have words to convey all that is Rule 13. Never have I felt so in tune with a character as I did Katie. She has so much depth to her, that everyone should be able to relate to her. The author puts us inside Katie's head to share every thought and every feeling. And Katie thinks a lot; in fact she's often lost in thought. As she faces conflicts with others and within herself, she rides an emotional rollercoaster and we take the journey with her. The plot is creative and thought provoking as Katie strives to succeed, but is frequently paddled despite her good intentions. The many other characters are well developed and we know them too, because Katie knows them. Max, the headmaster, is truly amazing, attested to by the atmosphere he creates in the school, the rules he uses to teach life's lessons, and his compassion. I don't necessarily agree with his vision of a perfect society, but that didn't detract from the fact that he wanted to change things for the better, and that his ideal is ideal for some people. To be honest, I wasn't comfortable with the phrase he used regarding the school's purpose, but that only helped me share the inner conflict with Katie. This excellently written story is Katie's journey to self discovery through a series of lessons, reflection, and punishment, all designed to help her get there. Thank you P.S. Cassidy for the opportunity to join her on her voyage.
I enjoyed this story that I think any reader could honestly think and reflect on the different rules and meanings that each girl was expected to learn regarding that rule and life. This story is more the POV of Katie, her life before attending Crown Point Academy where she wanted to blame everyone else for her lack of grades and responsibilities. Once she was brought to Crown by her father and brother, she learns quickly and painfully that she will be held accountable for her actions. The plot was unique and informative, with valuable lessons learned along the way of each rule, with those she interacted with, how she and Greg were made for each other, and each being groomed to become responsible and thriving members of society. Even with the story being more Katie’s POV, there is still a vast cast of characters that all play a major role in her maturity and growth. “You just keep going forward. You get it over with.”
Fantastic story, I very read a story about discipline school, but I have to this one was different. I am actually not sure how they earn each rule, but they do. I have few unanswered questions. One is how did Greg actually get involved, plus plus Katie brother. Is there some were special for them to train or Change there bad behavior?
But it was a excellent story to read. I hope to have more of the working of the school.
I received this book as an arc in exchange for a review. This was a very interesting book that involved domestic discipline and a sort of reformatory school. Not a lot of romance but definitely kept your interest.
Loved it! This book was such a unique and interesting change from the typical school discipline story. I was sucked into Cassidys strict, stern, and loving school. With the consistent and vigilant head master who loves and guides the mischievous young ladies through the 13 rules. I hope Cassidy writes more from this enchanting world!!
